We go the other way. Each app should earn its icon: one job, a clear voice, and enough polish that you notice the quiet parts.
Small is a constraint, not a lack
Constraints force taste. When Conscio can't also be your calendar, it has to be excellent at habits. When Trace can't be a full EHR, it has to nail the doctor PDF.
- Ship something you would open tomorrow morning.
- Refuse features that dilute the first promise.
- Leave room for the next app instead of stuffing this one.
What “done enough” means
Done enough means the core loop works offline, the empty states don't shame you, and the settings page isn't a junk drawer. Everything else can wait.
